Having grown up in Florida surrounded by water, boats, and fishing, I was fascinated with being outdoors and the natural beauty of the world. I express this through building & fixing things, being creative through arts & crafts, throwing over the top parties, & absolutely love all things tech and science.
Guilty Pleasure: Sitting by the Pool on a Hot Sunny Day Favorite Place to Travel: Anywhere International
With experience in early years education and a life-long passion for the entertaining, I have truly found my calling here at the Poplar Hangout. I love seeing children realize their creative paths through our courses, programs, and activities, and hope that our facilities empower them to express themselves and maximize their gifts.
Favorite Color: The rainbows of the Northern Lights Favorite Quote: Live every day like its your last.
I remember playing around with the endless video games at our local video game store. As an adult, I am a big goofy kid that is hands-on, and think it's so rewarding to pass on my love of technology, learning and freedom to the next generation. My educational background is in theology, and I head up various courses here at the hangout.
Favorite Vide Game: Mr. and Mrs. Pac Man, Tombs Best Meal Ever: My families house on ANY Christmas
At Poplar Hangout, we strive to raise the bar for school-aged after school programs and experiences by improving the availability and exposure to high end technical and creative programming designed to improve social growth through participation in meaningful & unforgettable activities.
Our programs extend beyond the traditional and offer top quality programs. Our proprietary activities and programs are world class and rooted in ancient teachings that are cool, crazy kid friendly, but most importantly parent and educator approved.

What our students say about us
Drawing student, Stefi
Drawing student, Casey
“When I started here, I didn't know how good I would be at painting. There are so many different paints here to try, you can really experiment with anything. My favorite is oil paint.“
“I like coming to the hangout and deciding how I'm going to spend my day. If I want to just read, I can do that, but if I want to build something, I can do that instead. It's fun to be able to experiment and have the freedom to express myself creatively and through sharing my work with others.“
Math Hater, Nathan
“I hated math people, I just didn't get it! My mentors were crazy patient with me & exposed me to a different way of looking at and breaking down problems. I learned and gained the confidence I needed to keep trying, and trying, until I got it right!“
